7 Tips on How to Write SEO-Based Content

You have the addiction treatment to change lives. You have the web site to promote them. Now you’re wondering, “how do I write seo-based content to attract people who need our help?”

Most addiction recovery center marketing teams are “seo-squimish.” The thought of writing seo-based contact drives em nuts. Today, I’m going to share seven tips that will help you. Buckle your seat, relax and get ready to learn.

Tip #1: Use “Empathy-Based” Target Keywords

Don’t think “seo” when writing for your web page. Instead, use “empathy-based” target keywords. These are the words people type in the search bar to find you.

People searching for alcohol or drug addiction help, will type in specific keywords or keyword phrases. The goal is to narrow down their choices.

To help them think of words you would type in. They will use their city, state and specific issue they need help with. Examples include…

  • Alcohol addiction Seattle
  • Drug rehab Dallas
  • Food addiction help Toronto

To find effective keywords to write about the next tip is key.

Tip #2: Try Free Keyword Search Tools

To get found more often in search results, you need tools. There are many free keyword search tools available. The free versions won’t give you the deep-dive you want, but they will get you started. These include…

  • BuzzSumo: This free tool shares how keywords are trending on social media networks. Type in your domain or keyword phrases to check.
  • Keyword Tool: Billed as “the best keyword planner tool”, it may be the top, free keyword search tool. Fair warning; there are additional metrics left out. Only the paid versions show more results.
  • UberSuggest: One of the top 10 marketers on earth uses this tool. Of course he does; he created it! The free webinar shows you how to generate 195,013 visitors a month. There are paid plans in addition to the free registration.

Tip #3: Write Attention-Grabbing Meta Descriptions

A meta description is just that. It’s the description or intro to your web page content. Don’t skimp here. The description should promise to solve a problem. Nothing too wordy, here.

The goal is to create a piece of content people want to read more of. Doing so can boost your search volume, online sales and more.

Tip #4: No Keyword Stuffing

Stuffing is great for Thanksgiving! Not for your seo content. Avoid keyword stuffing at all costs. Google penalizes websites practicing this outdated “word scam.” This means less people needing addiction help won’t see you.

Tip #5: Use SEO and Videos

Since Google owns YouTube, guess what? It boosts your seo content to use videos. You can place videos anywhere in your web pages. I recommend placing them at the beginning or end of each web page. Wy use videos?

Your videos let you demonstrate how you can help your audience. Don’t pass up a chance to use them.

Tip #6: Do a Google Search

Google is the best search engine tool around. You can use it to check your competition. Go to Google. Type in a keyword phrase. Check the number of links on the first page. Visit 2-4 competitor websites. Read some of their seo words. What do you see?

Their positioning on the Google page (1,2,3, etc.) shows you how well their keywording is. Don’t be discouraged by your competitors. They can teach you many lessons about search.

Tip #7: Choose Your Types of Content

Podcasts, videos and words work well together. Choose your types of content wisely. You can write an intro to a blog post, but end it with a button to hear a podcast. You can start your web page with a video. The rest can be a 500-word article offering helpful tips.

The point is, your content doesn’t have to be the same each time. Using WordPress gives you the flexibility of updating your content. You can switch out wording, video links and more.
